Dante.jpg (1959 bytes) Smoter.com comprises three subjects which were written by Walter Smoter Frank (AKA: Frank Walter Smoter) between the years 1986 and 1996. First is a 310 page footnoted, historical biography about the young Adolf Hitler and the pre NAZI era, including a detailed account of Hitler's service in World War One ( WWI ).  Second is another full length book dealing with Landlord Tenant relations for the do-it-yourself real-estate owner or landlord/tenant associate. And third, the history of two historic dams, including the failure of the South Fork Dam, which caused the 1889 Johnstown Flood; and Laguna Dam, on the AZ and CA border, which the US Government decorated with swastikas.

Burba and Jurgielewicz Genealogy:

My paternal ancestors (like the majority of Smoter’s in the United States), emigrated from the area surrounding Limanowa which back then was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Their relations and ancestral village (today: Piekielko, Poland) were very easy to trace.

My maternal ancestors, on the other hand, were very difficult to trace. They emigrated from the Suwalki region which was part of the Russian Empire. To pinpoint their ancestral villages and relations I had 440 Mormon Church (LDS) birth, death and marriage Church records of Burbas translated or extracted from Russian/Polish into English. All of the Burba individuals lived in villages within ten miles of the Roman Catholic Parish Church at Kopciowo (today's Kapciamiestis Lithuania.). Some of these Burbas immigrated to the Schuylkill County, Shenandoah PA area around the turn of the 20th century.

I also had translated or extracted, 225 Jurgielewicz files from the nearby parish church of Wizajny (today’s Wizajny Poland). All of the Jurgielewiczes lived with ten miles of that parish church. Some of them immigrated to NY NY, Massachusetts or Pittsburg PA.

If you are descended from a Burba or a Jurgielewicz who came to America from Suwalki Russia around the turn of the 20th century, the files below may be of help to you in tracking your ancestors. The Burbas named in the files lived, for the most part, within the orange area on the map below. The Jurgielewiczes lived, for the most part, within the blue area.

Burba Births 1809 - 1884
Burba Deaths 1809 - 1883
Burba Marriages 1810 -1884

Jurgielewicz Births 1808 - 1884
Jurgielewicz Deaths 1808 -1884
Jurgielewicz Marriages 1808 - 1884
